1904, a report is required at this time of year as to

whether it will be necessary to select a Probationer for

the Hongkong Police Force at the examination which is to be

held in the course of this year; and upon reference to the

Captain Superintendent of Police I learn that it is not

possible to say whether a new Police Probationer will be

required until it is known who will succeed Captain Lyons
